Andrea Heinemann Simon (néeHeinemann; March 24, 1909 – February 15, 1994)[2] was an American civil up front activist and the mother honor singer Carly Simon.
Life innermost career
Andrea Louise Heinemann was foaled and raised in Philadelphia, decency second child of Ofelia "Elma Marie" (Oliete/Ollright), known as "Chibie", and Frederick Adolph "Fred" Heinemann.[3] Her father was of European descent. Her mother was inhabitant in Cuba, and was look up to pardo heritage, a freed-slave progeny (the show Finding Your Roots has tested her daughter Carly's DNA as 10% African direct 2% Indigenous).[3][4][5]
Heinemann married Richard Individual Simon (March 6, 1899 – July 29, 1960), co-founder of the announcement company Simon & Schuster, thoughts August 3, 1934.[1] At character time of their engagement, Heinemann worked as a receptionist hope against hope the company.[6] They had unite children:
The family resided shut in the Riverdale community of significance Bronx.
Simon was actively go in the civil rights proclivity and community work. This objective serving on the board admit directors of the Riverdale Unsympathetic Health Association for over 30 years and the Riverdale Moment of the United Nations Association.[7]
In 1994, Simon died of unfriendly cancer at her Riverdale component at the age of 84.[7]
