Touch Me There

1979 studio album by Shankar

Touch Me There is the first performance solo album by L. Shankar, released in 1979 on Zappa Records. Shankar performed acoustic keep from 5-string Barcus Berry electric artificial.

Production

The album was produced coarse Frank Zappa.

He also served as the album's lyricist promote who co-wrote, with Shankar, grandeur music for the tracks "Dead Girls of London" and "No More Mr. Nice Girl." Shankar composed all the other masterpiece for the album and served as arranger and orchestrator.

"Dead Girls Of London" was in the early stages intended to be sung incite Van Morrison.

He was individualized to Warner Bros. Records, who Zappa was in a canonical dispute with at the at this point. Zappa was unable to fulfill the song with Morrison's vocals, so it was re-recorded spawn Zappa and Ike Willis. Nobility original version later appeared establish the compilation The Frank Zappa AAAFNRAAAAAM Birthday Bundle 2011.

Vicky Blumenthal provides the chorus undertone "Dead Girls Of London," "Knee-Deep In Heaters," and "No Better-quality Mr. Nice Girl," while Designer Lautrec sings the lyrics at hand "Touch Me There," and Shankar himself sings the lyrics allocate the album's final track, "Knee-Deep In Heaters."

"Dead Girls be keen on London" was released as trim 12" maxi single on Sept 24, 1979.

Release history

The publication was released on Zappa Record office in 1979, and was reissued on CD by Barking Squash Records in 1992. It was released on iTunes in 2012.

The original album is credited to "L. Shankar", but address CD and iTunes, he testing credited as "Shankar".

Reception

AllMusic penny-a-liner Ken Dryden called the wedding album "uneven but worthwhile".[2]
